The sands of healthcare recruitment are always shifting, and yet another major change is on the horizon.

As set out in the recent NHS 2024/25 priorities and operational planning guidance the use of staff from off-framework agencies will be removed from all NHS Trusts by the end of this month.

Whilst many agencies may be scrambling, CareJoy (and all our clients and candidates) will be continuing as normal as we are a framework agency, approved by the HTE, the Workforce Alliance (covering LPP, CPP and CCS), the NHS Wales Framework as well as for all the major private hospitals and care groups.

We have always strived to deliver the highest quality of care and compliance and welcome the move towards stricter and safer agency usage throughout the NHS. Our strong relationships with NHS Trusts and the private sector speak for themselves, you are in safe and dependable hands with CareJoy.

Impact on candidates
As an approved framework agency these changes will have no impact on our operations, and we will continue to support you with roles across the country.

If you are working with an off-framework agency these placements (and future job offers) will come to an end this month. Contact our team on 020 3773 4414 or email info@carejoy.co.uk if you have any questions or would like support in securing future work.

Impact on clients
We understand that this may be a time of uncertainty for clients who rely on multiple agencies for their staffing needs. As outlined in the guidance “by July 2024, trusts are expected to end the use of all off-framework agencies.” This means agency workers working through off-framework suppliers will need to be removed or transferred to a framework agency (such as CareJoy) before the July deadline.

The team at CareJoy have spent the last few months working with numerous NHS Trusts to get ahead of the upcoming changes to remove off-framework spending and deliver high-quality staffing on a consistent basis.

Contact our team on 020 3773 4414 or email info@carejoy.co.uk for more information on the impact of the guidance or would like support in securing your department’s staffing.

You're going to want to make time for our latest instalment of meet the CareJoy team. This time we're catching up with the incomparable, Rachel Manning.

What's your name and role within the CareJoy team?

Hi, I’m Rachel Manning. I am an Account Manager for CareJoy. My role covers lots of different areas including managing Darren’s accounts and working with clients nationwide.

What's the best part of your role?

The best part is that my job is so varied. I work with different members of the team every day across all aspects required to run the business.

How long have you worked with CareJoy?

I started with CareJoy in June 2022, so I’ve worked here for just over 18 months so far.

What do you enjoy most about working at CareJoy?

What I enjoy most is the atmosphere in the office, the team dynamic we have created, and the camaraderie that we share every time we’re together. I love that we support each other through everything, tackling issues together and celebrating victories as a team.

What was your first job?

My first ever job was working weekends in the café at Broomfield Hospital in Essex.

After that, I worked as a Beauty Therapist during college.

Can you name an unforgettable moment or achievement to date?

This is a tough one. The first thing that comes to mind is completing the ramble up Knockomagh Hill, overlooking Lough Hyne Marine Nature Reserve in Cork. The views from the top were stunning!

You must sing karaoke, what song do you pick?

I’m a bit of a karaoke fan, and my choices are eclectic (just like my music taste). This would be my top three choices:

Are you spending a long weekend on a beach, city, or mountains/countryside?

I’d definitely choose to explore a city. I’ll choose a visit to Krakow, ideally in the Spring.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of "Meet the CareJoy team" and find out more about our staff.

As the year draws to a close we'd like to take a moment to share a massive "thank you" to our phenomenal clients and staff.

2023 has been highly enjoyable and one that has been pivotal for our company.

Our offices will remain open throughout the festive period for all of your needs. We hope that you have a great festive break, a lovely Christmas, and a wonderful New Year.

Here's to an amazing 2024!

Darren, Barry and the full CareJoy team

Meet our amazing team

Grab a cuppa and meet the CareJoy team. Next up is Compliance Manager, Yasmin Mandil.

What's your name and role with CareJoy?

My name is Yasmin Mandil, and my role is Compliance Manager.

What's the best part of your role?

The best part of my role is the moment when we get our candidates compliant. Without this process, there’s no agency and people wouldn’t be able to work.

I feel a real sense of achievement every time we’re able to tell a candidate that they are signed off and ready to start work.

How long have you worked with CareJoy?

It’ll be two years in December. I worked as a Nursing Recruitment Consultant for two years before joining CareJoy.

I joined CareJoy as a Senior Compliance Officer. We were in the middle of a framework audit when I joined and must have made a good impression as I earned a promotion after we passed the audit with flying colours, earning a grade of 100%.

What do you enjoy most about working at CareJoy?

It’s somewhat of a cliché answer but working with CareJoy is like having a second family because we’re so close. Unlike working in a big company, being part of a small agency is a real team effort. And I love how much we all pull together as a team here at CareJoy.

What was your first job?

My first job was working in a local pub. I was too young to serve behind the bar, so I busied myself with collecting glasses and delivering food to customers’ tables.

I loved working there and then went on to work in beauty therapy for a while before I moved into recruitment.

Can you name an unforgettable moment or achievement to date?

I have two apprentices working with me on the Compliance team. I got nominated for an Employer of the Year Award on behalf of CareJoy by the guys in the office. As a result, we got invited to the Apprenticeship Connect Awards night, and we won!

It was a great experience to be part of and we certainly celebrated on the night.

You must sing karaoke, what song do you pick?

It would probably be I’m Alive by Celine Dion. I’m not normally the first up on stage for karaoke but I remember singing it on my first lunch club with Darren and Bradley not long after I had joined.

**Secret time: All three of us chose it as a favourite song 😀**

Are you spending a long weekend on a beach, city, or mountains/countryside?

This is an easy question to answer. I’m going to a five-star all-inclusive resort and I’m not moving for the whole time that I’m there.

I’ll be laying down with a cocktail in each hand and not moving all weekend. Absolute bliss.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of "Meet the CareJoy team" and find out more about our staff.

Meet our amazing team

Grab a cuppa and meet the CareJoy team. We're starting with one of our Theatres and Endoscopy Division Team Leads, Bradley Oates.

What's your name and role with CareJoy?

I’m Bradley Oates and one of the Team Leaders for the Theatre and Endoscopy Division at CareJoy.

What's the best part of your role?

Personally, I love the flexibility of it and how most days are different as I am speaking to new people. I enjoy building relationships with existing candidates but enjoy meeting and speaking to new people too.

Finally, I also really enjoy meeting candidates and clients in a less formal manner when we meet them at social events and conferences.

How long have you worked with CareJoy?

I joined CareJoy in November 2020 - so roughly two and a half years.

What do you enjoy most about working at CareJoy?

I really love the great relationships with the whole team here. It’s a great atmosphere, with lots of motivational competitions and training too.

There is a clear growth structure for each person here. We are all given set targets/KPIs which are regularly reviewed to reach the next step in our career. We also have Career pathways so we can see where we are and where we can get to.

What was your first job?

I’ve worked in and around recruitment since finishing sixth form.

My first job was as a Business Administration Apprentice.
I worked across the Business Development team and Recruitment desks, and it grew my interest in working in a Recruitment role.

You must sing karaoke, what song do you pick?

That’s an easy decision, I’d choose “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra.

I’d happily get up and belt out a few tunes at a karaoke. But I’ll keep my guilty pleasures for the shower and car.

Are you spending a long weekend on a beach, city, or mountains/countryside?

I’d definitely choose somewhere in the Lake District. I’d book a massive lodge for a load of my friends.

We would fill our days with walking, swimming, and all things outdoors.

At night we’d enjoy some food and drinks, beer pong, karaoke, a roaring fire…the whole nine yards!

Keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment of "Meet the CareJoy team" and find out more about our staff.

Ramadan Mubarak to all who are celebrating.

We wish you a happy and joyful month of celebrations, may the blessings of the month fill your homes with warmth and peace.
